Egg Roll

We had a beautiful day to enjoy the Easter Egg Roll at the President's home on campus last week.

We got there a few minutes early and Joshua quickly fueled up for the hunt with a cookie.

Joshua walked the perimeter of the hunt area to get a good idea of where all the eggs were "hidden."

Dave and Joshua discussed strategies to beat the other kids to the most eggs.

Mere moments before Miss. MSU rang the cow bell to start the hunt, 2 ducklings wandered into the 3-5 year old hunt zone.  Fortunately for the ducks they made their way our of the egg laden area just in time to be safe.

Joshua's strategy: Don't stop for all the eggs at the top of the field...run as fast as you can away from the other kids and start picking up eggs further into the field of play.

Joshua's strategy worked so well we asked him to stop picking up eggs about 20 seconds into the hunt (the whole egg hunt lasted no more than 30 seconds) to ensure that all the other kids were able to "find" some.

The ducklings may have escaped harm during the actual hunt but didn't get away in time to avoid numerous photo ops with sticky handed kids.

Park Exploration

While Dave was out of town this past weekend Joshua and I had a "Me and Mom" weekend.  By design, "Me and Mom" weekend was filled with as many activities that ensured sleep as possible.  One of those activities was exploring a new (to us) park.

Joshua looks like he is dressed to be part of the cast of Grease, especially with the tattoo peaking out from under his shirt sleeve in the first picture.

The weather was beautiful.  Joshua had a great time and especially loved the tire swing.  In addition to this awesome park the weekly trip to Wal-Mart, a birthday party, shopping for clothes, and eating at Chic-fil-a all in one day, Joshua and I both slept long and hard Saturday night.
(Mission Accomplished!)
Stay tuned for next week's post featuring Joshua, without the floppy moppy hair, hunting Easter eggs.

dressed for success

Joshua is equally as excited by the tie that Coach bought him and the Batman mask that Gulley sent him.  Naturally, no outfit is complete without one or both accessories.

Children's Museum with Cousins

Joshua enjoyed playing at the Children's Museum with his cousins a couple weeks ago.

Luke milking a cow.

Farmer Joshua drive the John Deere

Joshua "driving" the car he had just put gas in.

Abigail spent much of her time in the kitchen cooking us lunch.

Luke spent most of his time in the dino dig pit.

Joshua climbing into the "small intestine" portion of stomach theatre.

Making his way through the digestive system that, by the way, ends when the child comes down a slide into a toilet bowl complete with a flushing sound...disturbing to say the least!

Chef Abigail

Luke and Joshua enjoying the water table.

Joshua loved climbing into the table and getting sprayed with the water.
