Tons of Fun!

Joshua, Anna Ruth and I (Amelia) spent last week in Jackson.
It is widely believed that Joshua squeezed every ounce of fun out of the trip possible.

There was berry picking with Nana and Abigail:

Showing off the "fruits" of his picking.

There was costume wearing:
Joshua may not know who "Super Mario" is but he sure looked cute dressed as him.  Other costumes worn included an astronaut and a knight.

There was seeing/meeting family members:

We had not met our new cousin Lottie yet.  What a treat to spend time with her!

GG had not met Anna Ruth yet.  In this picture you may notice both girls have their Mississippi State outfits on.  State as playing in the World Series that night.

Lottie loved the "baby".  She held Anna Ruth, gave her the paci and wiped the spit up from her face.
Lottie also helped feed the baby.  By the end of the week she was big pals with Joshua and called both he and Anna Ruth by their names.
These two cousins got along better than they ever have, with the occasional argument (like with Joshua told Abigail she was not allowed to talk to him again until July).
  There was Mississippi Braves Baseball:
Joshua and I joined Coach at the baseball field to catch a few innings of the game.  Joshua spent most of his time yelling at the mascot or screaming at the batter to hit him foul ball.
Of course there was picture taking:

Gloria in the mirror jumping around give you an idea of the level of difficulty in getting this picture.
 There was parking playing:

 There was splash pad playing:

And there was hanging around with Tanner:

There were other things that took place that were not documented on film.  Joshua and I went to the library, he went to the farmer's market (and charmed free veggies from some of the farmers), Great Gay came to visit from Arkansas, he went to 2 movies, the list goes on and on.  We can't wait to go back!

One Month In

Anna Ruth is 1 month old!  Wow!
She is growing really fast.  She loves to sleep, stare at her brother and spit up.
It is amazing how much laundry a one month old can produce.  One day this week I washed 15 burp cloths, 9 bibs, 6 outfits and 4 blankets...all spit up on in the course of the day.

Joshua has enjoyed the festivities surrounding Anna Ruth's birth, especially all the big brother presents he has received.  He and Dave were excited to start putting together a model AT AT walker from Star Wars that had been given as a gift.

I attempted a few month old photos.

I like this shot because it looks like Anna Ruth is karate chopping the doll.

In this shot, the way Anna Ruth is sitting she looks like a baby doll too.

Anna Ruth and Raggedy Ann are about the same size right now.
We'll see how that changes over the next month.

Joshua has been helping me think of things to give Dave for Father's Day.  So far his suggestions have included: "a Star Wars shirt or belt or pants or shoes because Dad likes Star Wars and maybe I should get a shirt too.  Or maybe super hero stuff.  Like a super hero shirt or pants or even a cup.  And you know, I like super heroes like Dad likes them so maybe I could get a cup too."

You're Annoying!

Joshua to Anna Ruth (while Anna Ruth is crying): "Anna Ruth you annoy me.  All you do is cry."
Joshua to Anna Ruth (after Anna Ruth stops crying): "Anna Ruth you aren't annoying anymore.  Way to go little girl!"
Joshua to Anna Ruth (once Anna Ruth starts crying again): "Well Anna Ruth, you are annoying again."

Despite Joshua's low tolerance for crying, he seems to have adjusted to big brother-hood pretty well.  He loves to kiss his sister and talk to her.  Anna Ruth's eyes are open so infrequently that Joshua has taken to addressing her as "hey eyes open" when she is awake.
