Funny Fotos for Friday

Several years ago I happened across a kid's show on PBS called Boohbah. I am not able to explain the show as I have no idea what purpose it served nor can I identify exactly what a boohbah is. See for yourself...this is one of the boohbahs.

Dave and I got cracked up the other day because Joshua looks like a boohbah every now and then. Here is the evidence...

For more information about Boohbah, I learned today that there is a website: http://www.boohbah.com/

6-weeks old

Today Joshua is 6-weeks old. In celebration, the three of us went out for lunch.

Joshua seems to be growing everyday. We have decided that footed outfits may not be the best fashion choice for him as he is too long for the size that fits him best. His little legs have to stay bent in order for him to fit in the 0-3 month size but the 3 month size is way too big for him. I don't know if they make "tall" sizes for babies, but that is what we may need. We have considered cutting the feet out of some of his outfits and putting socks on him instead. (I know, that sounds pretty ghetto.)

This is quite possibly my favorite thing Joshua does...even in his sleep he looks and acts so serious.

Joshua is trying so hard to smile. This morning he was grinning a lot but I couldn't tell if he was doing it on purpose. I attempted to capture the smile-fest on camera and got a few pictures of it but I was mostly too slow and missed the shot.

Funny Foto Friday

Only a couple of the seemingly hundreds of funny pictures we have of Joshua.

Tummy Time can get boring really quickly:

One of Dave's many names for Joshua is "tough man fighter" and here Joshua is attempting to live up to that name:

5-weeks old

Joshua is 5-weeks old today. This week, Dave and I have noticed how much Joshua has grown. Dave likes to comment on how big Joshua's thighs have gotten. I can tell he has grown by the way his clothes are fitting (or not fitting) him. For example, look at this picture of Joshua in his going home outfit at the hospital when he was 2 days old and then at the picture of him in the same outfit when he is one month old.

Taken on 1/16 when Joshua was 2 days old:

By the way, the hat he is wearing in this picture will not come close to fitting his head anymore. The last time we put it on him, which was a few weeks ago, it was so tight it would pop off like a rubber band.

Taken on 2/14 when Joshua was one month old:

Valentine's Day in Jackson

We took Joshua to Jackson for Valentine's Day. Joshua's Aunt B babysat him Friday night and went to Jackson with us Saturday. We met Aunt Glo and Cousin Abigail there as well. While there, Joshua was asked, by his Nana, to model the "going home from the hospital outfit" she made him in a photo shoot with his cousin. Both babies were very cooperative. Joshua maintained the same serious face throughout all pictures while Abigail wiggled, cooed and smiled next to him.
We really had a great time Saturday. I'll post more pictures from the trip throughout the week. Here are a few fun ones:

4-weeks old

Joshua is 4-weeks old today. He is growing quickly and I had difficulty getting him to cooperate with taking a good picture. So I have included several pictures showing the struggle. Last week he stretched out showing how much he had grown. Today, he didn't want to have his picture made much less stretch out to show how tall he has gotten.

Aunt B is coming this weekend to keep Joshua Friday night while Dave and I go to a Valentine's Dinner at our church. Then on Saturday we are all going to Jackson for the day to visit. Aunt Glo and Abigail will be there too so I'm sure we will have stories and pictures to post early next week.

We continue to be very blessed by the generosity of people in our church. We have had many wonderful meals brought to us that not only taste good but have allowed me to not worry about dinner several nights a week for the past few weeks. Thank you so much!

This is one of my favorite things to dress Joshua in because it shows off his red hair:

Where are they hosing him down?

Tonight Joshua took his first tub bath. We have had many successful beside-the-sink baths. Even before he lost his cord he seemed to enjoy sitting in the water, so we guessed he would enjoy a "real" bath. This bath could not have come at a better time as we have been spitting up on our neck a lot the past couple days, causing us to smell like sour milk. Now, however, we smell like a Johnson and Johnson baby should smell-like pink lotion. Joshua loved his bathtub. He never whimpered much less shed a tear. He only tried to eat the bubbles and rub them in his eyes.

National Signing Day

Today, on National Signing Day, news out of Starkville, Mississippi is that 5-star athlete, Joshua Nolen (7 1/2 lb. 22 inches tall), has verbally committed to play for the University of Alabama beginning in the 2027 Season. Joshua is reportedly going to continue making on-campus visits to other schools as he states, "You never know what will be happening in 2027."

3-weeks old

Today Joshua is 3-weeks old. He is growing fast and getting big.

We have had a good week. Nana (Amelia's mom) stayed with us to help us until Friday and then Aunt Beth came to visit for the weekend. The past few days it has been just us and things have gone well.
