Since the last post

Thank you for your patience with my lack of blogging last week.  Since the last blog post Joshua has been heard saying some pretty funny things.

While throwing a royal fit he crossed his arms, furrowed his brow and shouted, "All I want to do it sit here and pout!"

Lately he has been saying, "Awe nuts!" frequently and at appropriate times.  (Add in a strong Mississippi Southern Accent and the effect is pretty funny).
In addition he has added "awe boniters!"  We have no idea what that means or where he heard it.  But he now uses it interchangeable with "awe nuts!"

Actual quote from Monday night at our dinner table, "Mom, is it ok if I just have more salad for dessert tonight?

Each night Joshua works on memorizing portions of the Children's Catechism.  A question that Joshua has down pat is Q: "What does every sin deserve?"  A: "The wrath and curse of God."
While on the way to Wal-Mart last Saturday we were talking about police officers and their job to arrest people who break the law and the following conversation occurred:
A: ...So police officers are good helpers because they arrest people who break rules.
J: "Oh, like the wrath and curse of God."
D: "yes, breaking laws is a sin and that all sin deserves the wrath and curse of God."
J: "Wrath, that is like a mouse but big right?
A: "No, that is a rat."
D: "Wrath means anger."
J: "What does anger mean?"
D: "Anger means to be mad."
J: "Oh, ok." (in a tone that indicated he understood much better what the catechism was saying now that he new it was not referring to a rat.)

Joshua has also been allowing us to hear sweet things from his heart (sometimes).
He loves to sing "Man of Sorrows What a Name" with Dave at night before bed.  Their favorite part is to almost yell, "Hallelujah! what a Savior!"

Every now and then Joshua will decide to contribute to the prayer before he goes to bed.  Sometimes he prays for a friend or to thank God for "healing me from my throw up at Donuts for Dad" (that happened nearly 3 months ago).  The other night he prayed, "Dear God, please give me a new heart so that I can obey perfectly."    What a sweet boy!
Yes the water is green...no it is not because Joshua was so dirty.
